After talking about Christmas for two weeks straight I feel like I need to take a short break from all of the glitter, ornaments and festive music. There is plenty more Christmas ahead of us and I need a day or two of normal every day life if I plan on getting through it. One thing that I cannot get off of my mind is how cold it is. There is a constant chill in my bones and no matter how much I bundle up I can not seem to warm up. If you are like me you may be looking for ways to warm up to winter. The cold and snow is unavoidable but there are things that you can do to make it more comfortable and even enjoyable.

Ways to Make Winter More Enjoyable

Draft Stopper

A simple or elaborately sewn draft stopper can make a world of difference. They help to reduce possible drafts and keeps a room feeling warmer. It might even help lower your heating bill since it will stop warm from escaping under the door.

Hot Chocolate Bar

Having scrumptious hot drinks on hand can turn your cold retched day into a cozy relaxing night. Set up a bar or drink station with garnishes like candy canes and marshmallows for a fun and exciting experience. Put out tea, coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider to appeal to anyone's taste.

Hot Water Bottle

If you are having an unusually cold and frigid night sometimes the only way to get warm is by turning up the thermostat. Instead, fill a hot water bottle and slip it into a wool knit cover and place it under your blanket. The heat from the bottle will warm you up and the wool knit cover feels great against the skin.

Warming Glass of Wine

A glass or two of wine can be quite enjoyable on a cold night. Since its served at room temperature you don't have to hold a cold glass while you enjoy it and it warms you from the inside out. If you want to turn up the heat, serve it warm as mulled wine with spices and fruit.

Warm luxurious Throw Blanket

Nothing beats sitting on a comfy sofa under a big, warm and soft throw blanket. I essentially live under mine during the winter. Its just not something that can be enjoyed during the summer but on a cold day it is the most amazing thing.

Word of the Day: Sleigh Bed

A wooden bed with a large headboard and baseboard that resembles the shapes of a horse drawn sleigh.
